Dr. Melissa Stillman
Melissa has a natural ability to connect with others and create a comfortable, safe space for personal healing, growth, and empowerment. Melissa creates a trusting rapport, and adds a dash of humor, as she builds a successful restorative process.
After earning her Masters in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Miami, Melissa gained valuable experience in the field working in a variety of settings. Most recently, she worked as the primary mental health therapist for a major healthcare agency in Miami, serving children, adults, couples, and families. Before that, she worked at the Greater Miami Cancer Support Community helping cancer survivors, caregivers, and grieving family members; at an all-girls opportunity school providing motivational counseling and positive role modeling; and as an on-site therapist for a mental health agency serving at-risk youth and their families.
Over the past several years, Melissa has helped clients cope with and overcome a wide range of mental health issues, including trauma, anxiety, phobias, major life changes, depression, self-harm, bereavement, relationship issues, anger management, ADHD, and oppositional behaviors. She implements individualized methods of therapy ranging from focused interventions like cognitive behavioral therapy to creative approaches that utilize play, art, and recreation therapy.
